The ever-innovative Kilmartin House Museum is hosting a Winter Solstice Walk through the heart of Kilmartin Glen’s prehistoric landscape – led by the museum’s Curator, Dr Sharon Webb.
This is an imaginative shared experience to mark the turning of the year and the coming of longer days, imagining what life may have been like here, at this tine of the year, for those who living in the glen thousand of years ago.
The hot buffet available to th walkers afterwards at the Kilmartin Museum Cafe sounds like the perfect end to an unusual and active connection with this astonishing place.
The walk is free but booking is essential. The buffet costs £8.00 for adults, £5.00 for children – and, of course, booking is also essential for the buffet.
Participatns are advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear. The terrain cannot be guaranteed to be either dry or even and who knows what the weather may deliver.
The walk will start at 10.30 – the start point will be confirmed later - and finish at 13.30 hours on Sunday 21st December 2014.
